Dan, Allow me to introduce myself, for I'm not sure if we have met. I live in the "almost North valley" near Bell and 7th Street and I'm the current VP-Program Chairman of SAC. I couldn't help but notice your posting last month about speakers on film vs. digital photography. I hope you were able to find one. Finding speakers has been one of my own challenges for the past year and a half. Jon Christensen spoke to SAC this year on astrophotography and we plan to have Richard Payne talk in July. Another expert in film and digital astrophotography is Chris Shur from Payson. One thing about these guys (except Richard) is that they tend to really emphasize their beautiful photos much more than explain the techniques. Also, can you tell me if any DFAC members are interested in mirror making, telescope making, or optical design? These are my hobbies, and I've found that SAC members are particularly not interested in hearing about lens or mirror making. A few are interested in telescope mechanical design. The only other "glass-pusher" I know in the whole Phoenix area is Mike Spooner, who lives way east of the valley.
