Since the locations of choice for Leonid viewing are being discussed, I will pitch in by pointing out that usual star party sites to which hundreds will invited are probably _not_ the places to go if you are halfway serious about watching the show. This is a short-lived event centered on 3:00 a.m. You would expect that a certain number of people will show up near that hour, lights and all. If Vekol Road is your favorite site, and it is good enough to the east, note that the road extends for nearly another 15 miles before terminating at Table Top Mountain. There are plenty of suitable sites -- all on BLM land -- along the way, and you won't have to worry about intrusive headlights at any of them. This show may photograph well, so if that's your thing, you will do best to be anti-social this time and stay away from the club sites.
