How much land do you think would be needed? Parking for how many

The valley extends so far in all directions that it would be hard to agree on
one location. Phoenix has an area similar to Los Angeles. Also, in the
summer it may be hard to find a suitable site for those in southern valley to
do multi-day astronomy camping as we like to do at Frederecksen Meadow or
Stoneman lake Rd. Some folks are going all the way to Portal but that's only
4600 ft. Even driving to Globe (3600 ft) from my North Phoenix location
takes as long as driving to the Rim (7000 ft) north of here. Plus, a summer
site just wouldn't work in the winter, so we'd need another site. How does
Tucson deal with that? It would be cool to have a private site without the
threat of car traffic including smugglers . I'd even be willing to pitch in
for it's purchase, but where can it be?
