According to Stellarium, the two stars to the upper right of the bright
âstarâ in the middle are HIP 81754 and HIP 81632. But according to
Stellarium, there is no bright star at the location of the really bright
object in my photo!
So I donât know what I took a photo of!
is an internal reflection in the camera from the adjacent
bright star; the two are symmetrically placed near the center
of the field, which is a dead giveaway. The structure of the
ghost image itself is also nearly identical to the bright star.
