According to Stellarium, the two stars to the upper right of the bright
âstarâ in the middle are HIP 81754 and HIP 81632. But according to
Stellarium, there is no bright star at the location of the really bright object
in my photo!
So I donât know what I took a photo of!

Upload that image to http://nova.astrometry.net/ ;
<http://nova.astrometry.net/> and it will identify that star field from its
database. That will identify (or not) the object. Handy site. Very useful for
old astrophotos you didn't label. -Dan Heim

I was playing around in PixInsight with an old photo I took on 6/3/2016 of a
random spot in the southern sky. There was always a fuzzy blob in there
middle that I couldnât bring out due to the light pollution. But with
PixInsight, thatâs less of a problem now.
So that got me to wondering if the fuzzy is real or a water spot on the lens
or what? Any ideas?
