Another big WOW factor here. Simply amazing not only the image but the
thought to dream up such a feat. Great work Tom, Jen and Dean.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] Venus Setting Behind Kitt Peak Enclosures
Dean Ketelsen and I independently had the idea to photograph the crescent
Venus setting behind Kitt Peak. Last night, Jenn and I set up with Dean
along the road to the border town of Sasabe. Using SkySafari and Google
Earth, I found a site where (I hoped) Venus would set behind the dome of the
4-meter Mayall telescope. The best still photo of the lot is here.

As it approached the 4-meter telescope dome, I photographed at an interval
of about 1 second to create this time-lapse sequence.

By this time, the correct exposure for the twilight sky was about 1/30s,
while the exposure for Venus remained 1/1000s. Since it's a moving target,
HDR won't work, so you're stuck with a very dark foreground, brightened as
much as practicable in Photoshop.
