I do photography using a homemade 12.5"/f3.6 hyperbolic astrograph. It has a
hyperbolic primary, a Newtonian secondary, and a doublet corrector lens which
is 4" from focus. The camera is an Apogee F16M Alta which uses a KAF16803 chip.
The mount is an very old Schaefer mount with a 9" Byers gear. For batteries I
carry two large "flooded" batteries in my trailer that give 230 Amp-hr total.
Unfortunately it's an all-day job loading everything up.

Hi Jim,
It should be good. I'll check on the southern horizon and Antares/Rho Ophiuchus
area and will report about it here. I imaged that Nebula about two years ago
from Fredrecksen's Meadow with good results, and that's only a little North of
this (but there's no road between them.)

A bit of Phoenix sky glow to the south. Not as prevalent as from the west of
Phoenix. You can still see sky glow from Phoenix at Sunset Crater north of
Flagstaff.
With some clouds at the Messier Marathon at the Bruce Brocket site, the SQM
readings were 21.4. It should be better without clouds.

Ken Naiff and I have decided to observe at the site near Sedona recommended
by JD Maddy at the last SAC meeting. We're both planning on arriving
Thursday. Neither of us has been there before but it should be a lot cooler
than the Antennas.
If you are travelling North on I-17, take exit 298. Turn right.
(Turning left will go into Sedona) Go about 2 miles. The trailhead is
on the left. There is a sign saying "Bell Trail overflow parking
area." (This is actually the Bruce Brockett trailhead, which serves as
overflow parking for the Bell Trailhead.)
Please note that this is a "day use" site and the ranger needs to
approve nighttime use. The ranger we contacted is Elvin West, phone
607 280 0625. (Note: it is 607, not 602)
