Very cool, Tom. I witnessed about the last third of the transit visually, but
did not detect Io itself, just its shadow.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] Transit of Io and Shadow

With Earth so near the orbital plane of Io and Jupiter so near opposition, this
is nearly as well aligned as a shadow and a satellite can get. This image was
taken with a 15-inch Newtonian on a platform from my driveway in Tempe.

...and the three-frame time-lapse version that demonstrates how much the seeing
can deteriorate in a mere 22 minutes.
