Odd, From northern Glendale, all I saw was a white glow through the = clouds at first contact. the sky was pretty solid overcast from there = on. Kept going out between innings to check. Didn't see a bloody thing. = Cest la VIe. Jenn and I watched the partial eclipse = through=20 clouds from her kids' school near downtown Phoenix. We headed for Tempe = about five minutes before second contact. The eclipsed moon was bright=20 enough to show up despite all of the freeway lights along I-10 and US-60 = on the way home. We got home about 15 minutes into totality, and I set = up=20 the Pronto in the front yard, which gave a great view. The moon was=20 untouched by clouds for all of totality. The colors were pretty subtle, but then I'm used to watching these = things=20 from darker sites. This was a bright eclipse, as predicted, outshining=20 every star in the sky. Just after third contact, the low clouds moved in from the west, and=20 covered the sky for good.
