For those who haven't been to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park to enjoy
the hiking and views can now do that and astronomy during the daytime
and night time. The second annual star party and solar viewing will be
this Saturday May 9th, at the Park.
Hydrogen alpha, CaK and
visual telescopes will be set up to view the Sun in the afternoon. Also,
Venus, Jupiter and Mercury will also be viewed during the daytime thru
other scopes. A Night Sky Network tent will be there with info and
projects for kids and adults alike.
We'll have a presentation in
the nearby Ramada at just after 7 PM with night time viewing after.
There is no charge for astronomers to enter the park and take
participation.

This event qualifies for the Astronomy Club/ASP program set up this year for
stipends for participating clubs.
