Tom, Very nice, especially if the seeing was as bad as you say. About 16-24 more and you have a full moon :-) Bernard -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tom Polakis Sent: Sunday, July 08, 2012 5:46 AM To: AZ-Observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Terminator Mosaic Here is my first attempt at doing a mosaic of images of the moon. Since the seeing this morning was abysmal, they are taken at prime focus of an 8-inch f/8 with no Barlow lens. Image scale is 0.71 arcsec/pixel, resulting in a moon that is 2750 pixels tall. Each of the eight images in the mosaic is a stack of the best several hundred frames. The mosaic is meant to be scrolled, so if your browser 'autosizes' images to fit to the screen, turn that feature off. The most prominent craters along the terminator, from north to south, are Posidonius, Theophilus, Piccolomini, and Pitiscus. http://www.pbase.com/polakis/image/144608394 Tom -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
