It's not my style to post "non-Arizona" news to this list, but this
accomplishment is worthy of recognition. Today in Australia, Steve Gottlieb
of Albany, CA completed a 39-year project of observing all 7840 objects in
the New General Catalogue. Steve researches catalogs and objects, and
takes excellent notes, so he's not just checking them off a list. Doing
this involved ten trips to the Southern Hemisphere and countless observing
sessions at other faraway sites mainly in California and Texas. Hats off to
Steve!
