I use and have been extremely happy with SkyMap Pro. www.skymap.com
There is a demo on the website, but some of the observing planning features
are disabled. I have an older version you can try.

I'm looking to upgrade my Star Charting software from my Starry Night and
Cartes du ciel. Features and data are important but also want something that
goes out to a Vmag around 15 or 16. On line I have found "Deep Sky 2000" and
"Sky Tools". Any recommendations on these or other? Please advise...
