15480 Empire Rd. Benson, AZ 85602 hm ph: 520-586-2244 Thanks for the suggestion to join the SW Astrophysics group. I just signed up. I wish I could have made it to the meeting at your place. I hope to have my Mom's relocation situation settled so that I can make it to the meeting at Jeff's. Your get-together sounds reminiscent of the old IAPPP > days, which I miss very much. Hi Wayne, I also miss the old IAPPP days. It took me a long time to adjust to the larger IAPPP-West, which later became SAS, meetings. I like smaller meetings and maybe you are the same way. When IAPPP was smaller and held at Thundercloud Lodge one could give a talk without feeling it had to meet some professional standard, and I liked knowing nearly everyone at the meeting (because it was not a huge conference), the personal contact, and the socializing. At the SAS meetings, sometimes the Software Bisque brothers will have a room with some food and drink, but something seems to be missing compared to the old IAPPP meetings. I feel the meeting I held in September 2008 and the one Jeff is holding is like the old IAPPP days in many respects. As Jeff said, this is a gathering of the Southwest Astrophysicists. Since you have an interest in spectroscopy and photometry, it behooves (-: you become a part of the group and join SW-Astrophysics: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/SW-Astrophysics/ Stan -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
