Rubber room ? Nah, I had a cover story going as I got some great wildlife shots while standing out there. (okay so maybe a couple of rabbits doesn't count as wildlife but they were kinda cute). Observation same as Jeff and Rick's Jimmy Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Tejera" <saguaroastro@xxxxxxx> To: <az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2007 19:52 Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Rocket Launch in 20 minutes Well, After a unscheduled 9 minute hold due to technical problems with the payload, the Delta I lifted off at 1934, the close of it's launch window. As I write this the spacecraft just had SECO1 (Second Stage Cutoff 1 (Indicating the engine will fire again)) It is well over 1000 miles south and beyond Vandenberg's (and by extrapolation, our) Horizon. Telemetry is being relayed by an Orion P3 over the Pacific. I thought it would be a crap shoot if we would see it. The Sun Angle was not ideal, being still above the horizon at the launch point and just barley set here. An hour later and it would've been a good show. I hope no one thinks Jimmy needs a rubber room standing in an open field taking pictures of nothing :) Clear Skies Rick Tejera President, Editor SACnews Saguaro Astronomy Club Phoenix, Arizona www.saguaroastro.org saguaroastro@xxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rick Tejera Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2007 19:09 To: az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Rocket Launch in 20 minutes Whoops Almost forgot, Thanks for the reminder.
