Clear and pretty hot.

I gave last night a rating of 6 out of 10 for transparency and 7 out of 10
for seeing. I did split a one arc second double in the 6 inch refractor.
The Milky Way was prominent, but the detail was mediocre.

Once it was dark the temperature made it down to the middle 90's and by 2
AM it was 75 or so. There are some gnats so bring your insect repellant
if you are coming this way. I would assume you would need it at Five Mile
Meadow as well.

I am making progress on what I called the "Small Telescope Project". I
created a printout from the SAC database down to magnitude 11.5, the best
of the Red Stars List and the Double Stars List. I put it together by
constellation. I would say I am about 60% completed and I hope to be done
by this time next year. It will provide me a set of observations of the
best of the sky in the smallest main telescope I have ever owned, the 6
inch f/8 refractor. Lots of fun.

Well, I will be here until Sunday, see ya;
