Tonight, I'll shoot a FITS image with TSXPro's capture program (Camera Add-On),
which will enable me to do a real image-link and pinpoint the location of the
suspect star and use it's coordinates in the SkyView utility. Will report back
tomorrow.
Thanks very much for this Brian. This will extend my reach and understanding.
Bill
ps: Thanks, Albert.

In general the usual star (or "object") catalogues
will _not_ show things very well resolved inside
galaxies, especially near their centers. So recourse
will usually have to be made to modern survey images
like the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, 2MASS, etc.
Many of these can be freely accessed using the
Goddard SkyView utility:
http://skyview.gsfc.nasa.gov/current/cgi/query.pl
...where one can select images from across the
entire electromagnetic spectrum.
