Hello Rick, Actually some of the best nights are just that. Some nights look clear and near perfect yet the sky is very unsteady and the photometric readings vary considerably. I have learned to watch the satellite data and if it looks like there will be clearing to just go set up and be patient. I have been rewarded with excellent skies most of the time.
