In a display of profound observational dedication, I spent a whopping 15 minutes on the back porch last night from 12:00 - 12:15 AM. I gazed at the most cloud-free, least moon-washed patch of sky to the north. In the first ten minutes, I saw three modest sparks scream westward through Ursa Minor, Draco and Hercules. They were about 2nd & 3rd magnitude & lasted only about a half second each. The need for sleep washed over me though, and I gave it up after that. Sounds like you caught a really nice one, Don! Sorry you guys caught the worst of the clouds down there.
