Before jumping in the car, PHX folks should be sure to look at the sky transparency apart from clouds. The shift in the weather pattern the last couple of days has been caused by a ridge producing a general flow from the north and northwest, which has brought a lot of smoke from the various Western forest fires into Arizona (at least northern Arizona). Maybe you guys can't see it beyond the usual Valley smog, but up here the sky sucks right now. I wouldn't consider observing until the wind shifts--- which is not forecast to happen until Sunday. \Brian --- This message is from the AZ-Observing mailing list.
