Happy Holidays to All,

After last night's storm, I was really expecting to see some snow on the New
River mountains to the northeast of here (5500 feet). Something like this:

But no joy ... guess it just didn't get cold enough. We did get 2" of rain
by my weather station reading. Here in New River (2200 feet) we see snow in
the air maybe once every other year. In the 20 years I've been here, it's
actually lasted on the ground for a few hours on only two occasions.

What we did get was some wind damage. 50 mpg gusts ripped the door off the
access panel to my electrical service. That wind was from the south, our
most vulnerable direction. The home is earth-sheltered to the north and
west, so those directions are never a problem. Damn, it was cold and
blowing last night. Not what I moved to AZ from Green Bay for. At least
the Packers beat the Ravens.
