Bill,
Once you get off the freeway, turn left under the overpass. Keep going
straight after the going under the overpass. There is a crude railroad
crossing jst past the overpass, cross it and you'll pass through some brush
and an old have broken down structure of some sort. follow the dirt road for
about 2.1 miles. the site is on the left. There is a small memorial marker
to Pierre Schwaar at the entrance to the site.
GPS Coordiantes are: N32d 49m 36.4s W113d 12m 13.6s
It's about a two hour drive from Central Phoenix.

I hate to admit it but I just bought a sleeping bag for the Sentinel trip
this Fri and Sat because I froze the last 5 times I tried to sleep in the
back of my pickup using a quilt/blanket scarfed out of wife's linen closet.
I also sent in my membership fee to SAC. I should have known that doing two
astro-things in the same week was a bad move and that Mother Nature would
strike back :o(
The Nat Weather Service website said this morning (Thursday) regarding the
Gila Bend area:
"A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA LATER TONIGHT AND
FRIDAY FOR AN INCREASE IN MIDDLE AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUDINESS."
The prediction for Friday night is partly cloudy. No prediction yet for Sat
night. The Clear Sky Clock for Sentinel also looks bad for Friday night -
clouds, poor tranparency and seeing.
In the event that the weather forcast improves could someone post directions
to the Sentinel site from Exit 87 on Rt 8? I have never been there and have
not found the directions posted anywhere else.
