Gary, The 2001 NASP web site states the following: "BE PREPARED TO TRANSPORT YOUR TELESCOPE APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET TO THE OBSERVING FIELD. 'CARS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED' ON THE OBSERVING FIELD FOR ANY REASON" Does that mean observers are not allowed to set up their scopes next to their vehicles in the parking/camping area (in lieu of setting up in the observing field)? It looks like the parking/camping area is surrounded by tall trees, so observing from there would be hampered by trees in any case, but I'm wondering if the expectation (requirement?) is that telescopes will be set up only on the designated observing field.
