All- I seemed to have caused more confusion that clarification by using "Aurora?" in my blog post title. For those who read all my explanation, what I apparently witnessed was a very bright airglow display. I reposted tonight with additional links to an excellent website with some great images and explanations of the phenomenon - same link as below... On 2 of our 5 nights there I witnessed some of the strongest airglow I've ever seen. Experienced observers next to me thought clouds were moving in, but exposures showed the characteristic green glow of airglow emission. Check out the blog for some pictures and a time-lapse on YouTube: www.theketelsens.blogspot.com Comments welcome, particularly if you also witnessed the display. -Dean-- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
