A wind like that can cut to the bone even on an otherwise comfortable night and, of course, our mountain wind storms are nothing to trifle with. Had you stayed, you may have ended up the "baseball" in a Ponderosa pine's Louisville Slugger impression, which would not have made for a very pleasant end to the trip. I was out at the Antelope Park site, last Friday and Saturday, and parked my vehicle to act as a partial windbreak, which on those nights made observing doable. And speaking of northland observing sites, Steve, did you find any new ones which would have potential under more favorable conditions? I'm always on the lookout for that "perfect" site close to home and would be interested in hearing about any candidates you've found.
