Thnaks for the literal 'heads-up', Jennifer.  This time of year you
really need to make an effort to see a halo at noon.

I've noticed that some of the best atmospheric phenomena occur near
the boundary of the "dry-wet line."  Take a look at a water vapor
image to see how abruptly the monsoon moisture ends along a
north-south line about 100 miles west of Phoenix.  Food for thought
for those who want to observe this weekend.  Go west, and bring your
misters.
