Howdy all; I made my way out of Phoenix, Arizona to a spot about 30 miles north of central Phoenix (Table Mesa Road) in the hopes of seeing either Comet Bradfield and/or Comet LINEAR in the morning twilight. I never saw either, using naked eye, 8X42 binoculars or my new 4 inch Orion RFT refractor with a 30mm Ultima eyepiece; I never caught a glimpse of either comet. I searched until sunrise. The horizon was clear, the aircraft that passed that part of the sky left fairly short contrails. So, has anyone seen either of these comets? Seeing Comet Bradfield on the SOHO satellite image display does NOT count ;-) Particularly, has anyone seen LINEAR from mid-northern latitudes?
