Steve, it will be touch and go for a few months, so I guess we better get used to it! It cleared up here last night after midnight, and when the sun came up the sky was pretty clear. Once I got dark adapted there was lots of detail along the galaxie's glow. From M 6 and 7 all the way through Sagittarius and Aquila into Cygnus there was a very obvious play of light and dark areas. So, Clark's observatory site in New Mexico has pretty dark skies, at least equal to Cherry Road on a 6 out of 10 night and that is pretty useful. It is north of Deming at 4836 feet. There was some lightening off to the east and I decided to shoot some images from off a tripod. By the time I got the camera set up and got back outside the clouds had covered about half the Milky Way and the lightening storm had died down. Oh well. But, it was nice for a while; Steve Coe -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
