In one of those bittersweet moments, Flagstaff has just been treated to a safe, filtered view of the Sun courtesy Mother Nature. The bittersweet nature of this event is that the filtration system was most likely smoke from the disastrous wildfires engulfing southern California. The Sun had a distinct salmon hue and the two major sunspot groups, 486 and 488, were easily visible to the naked eye. Was this visible in other parts of the state?
