Rob,
Thanks for the comments.
It is not uncommon for there not to be diffraction spikes in narrowband images.
The filters block out a lot of the light so they appear much smaller than
normal and diffraction spikes tend to only show up on the brighter and larger
stars.
I still have a day job, I just watch a lot less TV.

Bernard, that is a truly impressive image. There is a lot to look at in this
picture, and the more you look the more there is. The nebulosity is more
defined than it appears at first, and the dust clouds in the foreground add a
lot of contrast and sharp details. Interesting that there are diffraction
spikes on only the larger stars with the others being well defined circles or
small pinpoints. I personally find that aspect ratio (3:2?) more pleasing than
more square pictures. APOD worthy - go for it!
You have been processing a lot of images lately from your new vantage point in
NSW. Clearly that has taken you a lot of time. Did you quit your job? 😊

Subject: [AZ-Observing] NGC 6188 in narrowband
Hi,
This is an image of NGC 6188. It was captured in narrowband and processed using
the Hubble Palette. It is an emission nebula about 4,000 light years away in
the constellation Ara. The bright open cluster near the top center of the image
is NGC 6193 and it is responsible for the reflection nebula in the top right
portion of the image.
Comments and suggestions welcomed.
