Paul,
No. This can be imaged from the northern hemisphere. It is in Leo but just
not as well known as the Leo Triplet.

Leo
Beautiful. Excellent work Bernard.
Is this a southern hemisphere sight?

Hi,
This is an image of NGC 3521. It is a barred, flocculent spiral galaxy
about
35 million light years away in the constellation Leo. A flocculent
galaxy is one where the spiral arms are patchy and discontinuous. This
galaxy is also surrounded by tidal debris streams that are likely the
result of interactions with other galaxies in the past.
Comments and suggestions appreciated.
