Passing along a couple clippings...
Dear Friends of Valerie,
This past Sunday Valerie's husband Bob Goff passed away.
There will be a memorial service on Jan 11 at 11:30 AM at UMC's Duvall
room. His weakened heart gave out. While flowers are OK she is also
working up a plan for donations to a heart fund or for an education fund
at the Optical Sciences Center or SPIE. I will keep you informed.

Here is a copy of Bob Goff's Funeral Notice posted in the AZ Daily Star:
GOFF, Robert F., 59, of Tucson, a master optician and amateur astronomer,
died December 23, 2001, of heart disease. Bob will be profoundly missed by
his beloved wife, Valerie; children, Peter Eugene Weber of Tucson, Julie
(Daryl) Carpenter, Gigi Goff and Jason (Heather) Goff of TX; four
grand-children; sister, Katie (Ron) Sager of Tucson; brother, Monty (Joan)
Goff of CA; stepsister, Heather Marshall of CA; former wife, Elaine Terrell
of CA; former wife, Patricia Hand of TX; numerous relatives and loyal
friends. Memorial services will be held at Duval Auditorium, University
Medical Center, January 11, 2002, 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the UMC Sarver Heart Center, the UMC Cardiac Rehab program,
the OSA or SPIE educational funds, or an astronomical observatory, science
education center or charity of your choice.
