Awesome image, AJ. Nice detail and color visible on that galaxy. Long before there was CCD imaging, I once hauled my 17" Dob up to Orme-Dugas Road (off I-17). That was back when it was still a really dark site. Wanted to try "hyper-oxygenating" my retinas for the best visual experience of M101, so I brought along a bottle of lab grade O2 and tried a before/after comparison. Had heard from some sources that, if you're at higher altitudes, that sometimes improves the view. After breathing pure O2 for a couple minutes, I took a second look. Not sure if it really worked, or if I was fooling myself, but I thought I saw a slight improvement in contrast and brightness. What you've got here is WAY better than any direct view I've had of M101, even through a friend's 30" Dob. Excellent work! -Dan Heim On 4/7/2014 1:35 PM, Albert Barr wrote: > I think I hit the limit on "more is better." I have 40 hours on this M101 > wide field now, Ha and LRGB.
