I have been searching for a long time for a good Macintosh program
for imae processing. I have found such.

Keith Wiley is a most interesting fellow and I suggest visiting his
web site even if you are not interested in image processing.

In fact if you are interested in image processing and are using a
DOS/Wintel box I still recommend checking this out as the
documentation is excellent and you can learn a great deal from it.

The program for the Mac allows processing of the images, stacking and
subtracking dark frames and flat fields. He has some galaxy images
taken with a QuickCam that will knock your socks off. I particularly
liked one of M51 taken with an 8" SCT and a QuickCam. The secret is
in the processing.

Now to experiment with my dry ice cooled Color QuickCam!
