Well this is wild, I have yet to get Sam's email with a link to his very nice image of the pair over a the Catalina's but did get Wayne's response. Benson, AZ 85602 hm ph: 520-586-2244 I'm surprised you got such a stable shot, Sam. It's still blowing like the dickens 30 miles to your east. I missed seeing the display by _that_ much! I saw Jimmy's notice about 15 minutes too late. I had been out earlier looking at the boiling surface (caused by our turbulent seeing) of Jupiter and then had a surprisingly nice view of the crescent moon just about 10 degrees higher up in the sky from Jupiter. Actually it won't be too long until you see another shuttle. I think there is another launch scheduled for April 19th. I thought this was the last shuttle launch, too, but this was the last _Discovery_ flight. There are two more shuttles left to be launched. I'll take your word, Jimmy, that Discovery was trailing the Space Station. I thought the trailing object appeared slightly brighter. We have a couple more chances tomorrow night and then we won't see another shuttle craft for a long time to come. http://www.pbase.com/pegsam/image/133019630 - Sam -----Original Message----- From: Jimmy Ray Sent: Monday, March 07, 2011 8:51 PM To: az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: ISS / Discovery Double Pass 20:00 tonight from the NW Wow, 50 min turnaround on emails. This thing has gotten slow! The pass was nice. Came from the northwest, appeared to be the ISS leading the shuttle. Both eclipsed just about due North at about 45 degrees elevation. It will be coming from the North West Thank you, Jimmy Ray -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
