I am having a problem with my Takahashi EM 400 Temma 2 mount. There is a small
screw that needs to be loosened near the polar scope so you can set the offset
based on your geographic location.
That screw broke a year ago. I got a replacement sent to me from Japan and
thought it would be an easy fix using a drill bit that can unscrew broken
screws and bolts.Well I tried that for quite some time and the bit eventually
broke inside the screw hole.
Even if I got a new part to replace all this I canât unscrew the ring because
the original broken screw keeps the ring from moving. I am wondering if any of
you know someone or perhaps a machine shop that might be familiar with
astronomy equipment who can fix this. I am, of course, willing to pay for
someoneâs time.
Iâve attached a DropBox link. The problem is the hole directly to the left of
the scale.
Many thanks
Albert
