That's great! Also see the Sunday Mar 6, 2016 AZ Republic Opinions page for
a Republic Editorial Board Opinions piece damning HB2507, and Steve
Benson's scathing cartoon of light pollution on the Wednesday Mar 16, 2016
Editorial page.

Thanks to You, Arizona Dark Skies Are
Protected From More E-Billboards!
Dear Walter,
Thanks to you, House Bill 2507 (which would
have expanded the allowable area for electronic billboards) is dead in the
water. We urged you to tell the Arizona legislators to kill the bill and
your voice was heard!
We couldnât have achieved this without YOU!
Our IDA members made phone calls, submitted letters and emails, and even
made personal visits to the Capitol to urge their legislators to save
Arizonaâs dark night skies by voting down House Bill 2507.
While IDA is truly an international
organization, we call Arizona home and are thrilled to help maintain the
good policy that already governs EMC operations in our state.
However, the fight doesnât end here: there
are reasons to believe that the outdoor advertising industry will be back
in future sessions, again seeking to chip away at the hard-won outcome
achieved in 2012. Rest assured that we will monitor this situation closely,
and ask for your assistance in support of our stateâs magnificent dark
skies.
If you have a moment, why not thank the six
Senators who voted against the expansion of EMCs yesterday for their votes?
Contact information for these individuals is below.
For more details on the bill, its history
and IDA's stance, read our blog post.
With Gratitude,
Scott Feierabend
IDA Executive Director
