This event was established to raise funds for the creation of a permanent art venue, ensuring that future generations of park visitors will be able to view the collections of Grand Canyon National Park and the Grand Canyon Association , which are not currently on display. And this year, GCA is hoping to reach even more people by bringing artists to paint on the North Rim for the first time. The 3rd Annual Grand Canyon Celebration of Art is presented by the Grand Canyon Association on behalf of the Grand Canyon National Park. Major support is provided by our sponsors. Jack Hanna Thrills Huge Crowds at Celebrate Wildlife Day On Saturday, May 7th, Grand Canyon National Park celebrated wildlife. The day's events included interpretive programs about ravens, reptiles, mountain lions, the endangered humpback chub, and California condors, and an open house with rehabilitated animals brought by Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center. The event's highlight was wildlife expert, Jack Hanna, sharing his knowledge and passion for animals. Hanna presented three programs to almost 900 people. "We learn about animals because we care for them," he said. "It's about love, that's why we are here." Celebrate Wildlife Day was created to honor the life of Eric York, a Grand Canyon wildlife biologist who died in 2007. We hope you will join us for next year's Celebrate Wildlife Day on May 5, 2012.
