Last night was just so-so. I gave seeing a 6 and transparency a 7. Rich Walker gave them 5 and 7 respectively. Seems to me the breezy conditions were still active in the winds aloft. This didn't stop the four of us from doing so observing, but nothing very serious. Had excellent view of the Ring in Rich's 13.1", NGC6645/40 in Chuck Aker's 17.5" (See image posted by Jon Christensen at http://christensenastroimages.com/clusters/ngc6440-6445.htm from two days ago) and the Crescent Nebula in Ken Reeves's 20" (he calls this one the ear!). Regardless of the so-so seeing we all enjoyed being out under the stars and having cool weather. We began packing up around 11:30pm but the moon didn't rise until much closer to midnight. Clear skies to all, aj -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
