What about? I have observed here several times. The major drawback is that its very close to 87. There are a few campers from time to time. 34°34'31.23"N 111°16'15.21"W I plan to check out this location next weekend. 34°38'19.54"N 111°21'28.77"W -----Original Message----- From: stevecoe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2013 5:54 PM To: SMTP Subject: [AZ-Observing] Fredericksen's Meadow and Back to the Monsoons Howdy all; For those of you who were not at the SAC meeting last night I have poor news. It seems that the usual Fredericksen's Meadow observing site is no longer available to us. The other part of the report was that there were people at the site to our south that were firing guns for hours at a time, then started a 20 foot tall bonfire. We had several ideas about other spots to try and I do hope we can find a location in the cool pines to view the sky without trouble. Well, it is about 6 PM and the Monsoons are upon us again. I will try and get with the ranger startion at Happy Jack and see what can be done to provide us with a viewing location. Because it has been raining quite a bit I am reluctant to drive out on any of the muddy roads in search of a new spot.
