Greeting to Brian Skiff, and any others following my âFootball Stars
Well, I think I found the âareaâ causing the problem, and have isolated
itâ¦. (removed it from the mount).
Check out this âtarget imageâ which I took this evening (Testing my
And zoom in on it down to the pixel levelâ¦. If your browser allowsâ¦
I âtargetedâ the NEW ADM adjustable base for the guiderâ¦
I took it out of the hardware configuration, and put the original mount for the
guider back on (rigid).
If you look at the ADM adjustable base image (link above)⦠There are
adjustments for side-to-side, and also elevation.
The problem is in the elevation.
Adjusting the elevation adjusts the image E/W, which is the direction of the
elongation of the starsâ¦
The back portion of the elevation adjustment is an embedded thumb screw, with a
locking not. That part works very well.
However, the front of that adjustment must also be able to âmoveâ⦠And it
is held in place by tension from a SPRING !!!
On inspection, it looks like the elevation adjustment gets good and snugâ¦.
But obviously, there is a small movement possible, which is all it takes.
My guiding graph was looking pretty good too⦠The one âplot pointâ that
is off was the 1 pixel âditheringâ between framesâ¦
Now⦠to get to work and figure out how to resolve the issue with the
âspring" so that I can have that adapter back in the hardware mixâ¦.
