[2nd attempt as I ran afoul of the âtoo many quoted lines - sending your

Iâll give the Moon a shot tomorrow night.
Just for reference, my Celestron C6 is able to focus on the street lamp. Got a
nice photo of it! :-) Kind of fun watching the bugs flitter around the light at
night. :-)
Yes, my Canon does require the 2â extension tube for use at the prime focus.
I think thatâs what directly connected inline to the back of the SC is called.
FYI, hereâs the scope/autoguider combo I have:

That's likely way too close. Use the moon.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Focusing Orion StarShoot Autoguider on Orion 50mm
helicoidal guide scope??
Could it be that my target street light isnât far enough away? I was
attempting to get rough focus on a stationary object as I find trying to
track a star and focus at the same time to be very difficult. As in beyond my
skill level. Maybe I should try using the Moon as a target?
It looks like the scope has about 1/2â of focus travel. I âthinkâ I was
at the full extension but itâs hard to tell which way I was without the
tape measure.
