Hello all.
I started watching Vesta from the Grand Canyon North Rim Star Party early last
month. Showed it to some of the visitors up there. It has moved a lot since
then. Nice to watch something moving even faster than Venus!
Mars Update: I got up at 3:30am and had a long look at Mars which is still very
much having the global dust storm. The planet was just a featureless
yellow-orange ball of bright light. I sure hope the storm dies out real soon so
we can view Mars and all the surface features this summer.
The seeing was very good and the morning temps were about 72 degrees. Real Nice.
Uranus and Neptune are easily seen in the morning also. They are tiny green and
blue discs which move a great deal slower than Vesta.
The moon was nice clear and bright too.
Later, Kevin Kozel
