Paul, seems there are goings on like those a lot now-a-days. Need to pay closer attention. BTW, did you seen any sequence of the Europa Ganymede close approach? It clearly has sub-arcsecond resolution since Ganymede's apparent diameter at opposition is only 1.7 arc-seconds. The circular shaddow of Io is seen crossing it. Thanks for pointing it out. The conjunction that I saw was actually a different one. It was between Europa and Ganymede on Aug. 20, at 0515 AM UT, and the spacing less than 2 Ganymede diameters. -Paul ----- Original Message ----- From: "AJ Crayon" <acrayon@xxxxxxx> To: <az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 9:01 AM Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Europa and Ganymede last night > Paul, there is a nice 14 image sequence of this event at > http://www.skyandtelescope.com/community/skyblog/observingblog/53682157.html > > Enjoy! > > AJ Crayon > Phoenix, AZ > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Paul Lind" <pulind@xxxxx> > To: <az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 8:01 AM > Subject: [AZ-Observing] Europa and Ganymede last night > > > I just happened to look a jupiter last night at 9:30 while testing my > daughter's 8" telescope.
