Chris,
It appears that you have made the same mistake as everybody else who buys the
Sigma 8mm lens. You took the lens cap off, but failed to remove the cap
retaining ring, which vignettes the image. Remove that ring in the future, and
you will gain an additional 20 degrees along the horizontal axis.
