David Levy donated a digital scan of all of his observing logbooks to the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. They date back to the late 1950's, and are available as 23 large PDF files at this site. http://www.rasc.ca/logbooks/levy Any time that I am asked about the most interesting thing I have seen through a telescope, I don't hesitate to answer that it was the impact of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 into Jupiter. The discovery was made in March of 1993, and the impact occurred in July of the next year. You can find David's raw notes about Comet S-L9 in Volume 17.
