Hi Jack, Surfed over to the Adorama site. Below is how one guy rated it. Still goes to show "you get what you pay for". I still wonder if the "hoodman" and the Canon "C" are the same. The Canon is $50 more. That could amount to $10 per letter to have the "C-A-N-O-N" name screened on it. Don't know, but I do note that the Canon stated it's 1.25x / 2.5x and the Hoodman spec is 1x / 2.5x. Anyone have either of these and can advise?? Jimmy Ray BTW - This PC doesn't have spell check so I'm invoking the "if the first letter is right it's spelled right" rule. Thoght I did catch and finally correct the subject line from DLSR to DSLR ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Describe Yourself: Hobbyist/Enthusiast Pros: Easy To Use, Inexpensive Cons: Distorted Image, Wobbly Fit Best Uses: Low angle photography Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend I was able to compare this product with a friend's Hoodman HRAV on my Nikon D70 and found the adaptors to be much cheaper (plastic instead of metal) and the fit to be less stable (wobbly). There was also considerable optical distortion except in the center third of the image with the 1X magnification. This Adorama Pro Optic product is less expensive than the Hoodman right angle finder, but I wouldn't make the same choice again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jack Jones" <Telescoper@xxxxxxx> To: <az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 04, 2007 18:20 Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: DLSR Focusing I just received the Adorama catalog and there is a Pro-Optic right angle "C" type 2.5x magnifier for $89.95. I don't know if the quality is the same but it looks like a good buy.
