If you have access to a solar telescope with a Hydrogen alpha filter, it's
worth braving the heat to look at the sun this afternoon. One region has
been very active for the past couple days. This morning I put together a
time-lapse sequence of activity in this region over a period of 100 minutes.
The vertical extent of the frame is roughly 200,000 miles, or 25 earth
diameters.
