[AZ-Observing] Re: Comets nucleus vanished?

Hi all;

Yes, we tried AJ's Swan band filter on last Thursday and it made the comet
larger and a beautiful aqua color in his 8" SCT at 80X or so.

I do see the nucleus with no trouble at 80X in the Nexstar 11 in the
backyard. No, it is not as prominent as three nights ago, but it does not
seem to have vanished.

What a fascinating comet! Growing in size, still far "too bright" for a
comet in the asteroid belt and moving so slowly that it is still "below"
Mirfak after 10 days since the outburst. I have looked at a lot of comets
in my life and this is easily the most bizarre. A "Halloween Comet" for
sure.

Ain't we got fun??

Steve Coe

Well, the blue frame came in and still no nucleus.
But I did try the Lumicon Swan band filter visually
with my 80mm refractor and it boosts the green halo
around the comet about 3x in contrast. Very cool!
