I observed comet McNaught Sunday evening from my back deck using 10x50 binoculars. I first spotted the comet about 5:58 pm and took several exposures with my Nikon D70. Viewed through thin clouds along the western horizon, McNaught showed a very short, sun-opposing tail. This morning, I finally found it in one of my digital exposures. The comet appears as subltly brighter stroke just above the trees.
